Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year where we celebrate life and the new year. Yom Kippur is the day of atonement where we fast, ask forgiveness, and prepare to be better people in the new year. They are connected by the ten days of awe in which we focus on what sins we might have committed. I would personally say the two holidays are similar because they are about celebrating being alive but also atoning for what you might have done wrong.
