Rise means up the y axis
Run means across the x axis
Slope means change in y over chance in x
Slope means rise over run

Solve by finding a clear point. Let’s pick (2,0) and (0,6). Start at (2,0). Rise to 6. This is your change in y. Run 2. You are going to the left so that makes it -2.

Slope (m) = Rise over run or difference in y over the difference in x = 6/-2 = -3
